The Easiest Aquarium Fish To Take Care Of

highqualityarticles.com The Easiest Aquarium Fish To Take Care Of No aquarium fish is maintenance free but some fish are easier to take care of than others. These are fish that are best for beginning aquatic hobbyists, as they are tougher in health and more forgiving of any mistakes the beginner is bound to make. The easiest aquarium fish to take care of are all freshwater fish. They are the Beta, the common goldfish and the plecostomus. Bettas The Betta (also known as the Siamese Fighting Fish) is arguably one of the easiest aquarium fish to care for as well as being one of the most beautiful. He has a robust physical constitution and has been known to live in small bowls successfully, unlike other fish. He also produces less waste than goldfish. However, he is a pugnacious fellow and often fights with other fish. He will kill another male Betta because he was bred to compete in fish fights. Female Bettas are much more social with other tropical fish, but they are drabber in color and have much shorter fins. They can eat the same foods as other tropical fish, with a particular attraction to bloodworms. Common Goldfish Many hobbyists argue that the common goldfish (and its close relation, the Comet Goldfish) are the easiest aquarium fish to take care of. They also are far more social than Bettas and come in brilliant colors. They do not require special diets and can tolerate just about any ornament you care to plop into a tank. Egg-shaped goldfish that swim slowly, have

Are cichlids harder to take care of than small tropical community fish?

Question by Miss Meagan: Are cichlids harder to take care of than small tropical community fish?
I have a 20 gallon tank which currently contains a few tetras and danios. I’ve had this tank for several years now, and the only reason it only has a few “starter” fish in it is so that my faily doesn’t have to work much about them while I’m away at school. But in the past it’s been a fairly intermediate system, so I’m used to checking water chemistry and things like that. I really want to change it into some kind of cichlid aquarium, but don’t know much about cichlid care. However, I’ve been doing a little bit of research, and it seems pretty straightfoward. My main concern is that 20 gallons isn’t really enough water for them. Any advice or suggestions? thanks.

They are not really harder to keep it’s just that cichlids are aggressive and you have to be careful what you put with them. (even other ciclids) The smaller the tank the fewer the fish. size of the fish is also important.

I have had tropical fish before, but I am starting a new tank. I am a college student and do not have but so much time to keep up with the tank so I was wondering which would be easier tropical fish or cichlids?

I know that cichlids are tropical fish. I am referring to fish like guppies, tetras, etc that the pet stores label “tropical fish.”

Cichlids are tropical fish. There are kinds of tropical fish that are easier than others, and there are types of cichlids that are easier than others. With that size tank I would not put cichlids in there.

Easy Tropical Fish to Take Care of?

Question by Justin: Easy Tropical Fish to Take Care of?
I have recently set up a 10 gallon tank and have had some troubles with my tank. I have a flourescent light, a heater, a filter. The tank is currently at 78 degrees. I started out with 2 zebra danios, because I heard they are good to start your aquarium with. I then added two tiger barbs and two orange guaramis along the way. One of the guaramis died and I later replaced it. Now, both of my tiger barbs have died and the replacement guarami is on the verge of dying, so basically, I am looking for some easy fish to take care of. Thanks! I appreciate any responses!

wow you’re wanting fancy fish? just get some neon tetras or guppies…those are fun and hard to kill. If you want a really cheap fish, you can get feeder goldfish for about 20 cents each at any major pet store…Those lasted the longest for me, about 2 yrs!

Take advantage of mild weather: winterize ponds and water features

Take advantage of mild weather: winterize ponds and water features
Plants and fish should be taken care of first. Then look after pumps, filters, pond statuary and fountains. Tropical pond plants have no hope of surviving winter outdoors. They must continue to grow in a warm environment during winter months.

Question by Marian: Are Freshwater Tropical fish easier to take care of than Fancy Goldfish?
I have a set-up, cycled, aquarium. I am not asking about water conditions and vacuuming gravel, etc.. I just want to know which is easier and less prone to illness and diseases – Fancy Goldfish or Freshwater Tropical fish (smaller ones) – like Platys?
I have a 50 gallon tank, with two Aqua-Clear 70 filters and a good Bubbler.
